Make shorts from your AI assistant
ViewGum runs an MCP connector. Connect it once and your assistant can price, make, edit and export vertical shorts from a chat, asking you before anything is charged.
Pick your assistant
Works with assistants that support remote MCP connectors with sign-in, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Cursor, VS Code and Gemini CLI.

Claude Sonnet 5.5 sonnet-5-5
Anthropic. Clear scripts for fewer credits.
GPT-6.1 Sol gpt-6-1-sol
OpenAI. Fewer credits, a different voice.
GPT-6 Astra gpt-6-astra
OpenAI. The largest model here, and the dearest.
Access and paying
- Reading tools run for any ViewGum account that has access; making, editing and exporting also need a paid plan. Any other account is told what it needs.
- Every paid action is priced first: a quote tool returns a quote_id and the credits it costs, and the action charges exactly that quote. A price that moved since the quote is refused and nothing is charged.
- Paid tools are marked as needing your confirmation, so assistants such as Claude ask before running one. Sending the same quote_id twice is one charge.
- Each connection can carry a daily credit cap, set by the person in ViewGum under Settings, Connected apps; a call past it charges nothing.
- Credits come with a plan; plans and top-ups are bought on ViewGum itself, never in the chat: https://viewgum.com/pricing
Troubleshooting
- It says a paid plan is needed
- Looking at your credits, looks, shorts and brand kits works on any account with access. Making, editing and exporting from a chat need a paid plan, chosen on the pricing page.
- It says you are out of credits
- Nothing was charged. Add credits on the pricing page, then ask again; a price quote lasts 15 minutes, so the assistant may need a new one.
- It says the daily cap was reached
- You set a daily credit cap for this connection, counted over the last 24 hours. Nothing was charged. Raise or remove it in ViewGum under Settings, Connected apps.
- It says ViewGum is not connected, or sign-in failed
- Connect again from your assistant's connector settings. A connection ends when you disconnect it in Settings, Connected apps, or after 30 days without use.
Questions
- Which assistants can use ViewGum?
- Works with assistants that support remote MCP connectors with sign-in, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Cursor, VS Code and Gemini CLI. Claude Code and any other agent that connects to a remote MCP server over Streamable HTTP with OAuth sign-in can use it too. Not yet: Grok, Gemini app, Claude Duet, Meta Muse, Windsurf, Antigravity, Warp, Raycast and Le Chat.
- Can ChatGPT make a YouTube Short?
- Yes, through the ViewGum connector, added as a custom plugin in ChatGPT. Ask for a short on a topic: ChatGPT gets a price from ViewGum, waits for your yes, then ViewGum makes a finished vertical short with captions, graphics and sound, sized for YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Reels.
- Can Claude make a TikTok video?
- Yes, through the ViewGum connector. Claude does not render video on its own; add ViewGum as a custom connector and Claude can make, edit and export finished vertical shorts for TikTok, Reels and Shorts from the chat, asking you before anything is charged.
- Does ViewGum work with Grok, Gemini or Meta Muse?
- Not yet. Grok and the Gemini app take custom connectors, but ViewGum's sign-in does not accept them yet, and Muse lists only connectors Meta has reviewed. Gemini CLI takes remote connectors with sign-in; its steps are on this page.
- Can an assistant spend my credits without asking?
- Every paid action is priced first with a quote that charges nothing, and paid tools are marked as needing your confirmation, so assistants such as Claude ask before running one. The action charges exactly the quote, and you can set a daily credit cap for each connection in Settings, Connected apps.
- How does an assistant pay?
- It spends credits from your ViewGum plan. Plans and top-ups are bought on ViewGum itself, never in the chat.
- How do I disconnect an assistant?
- Open Settings, Connected apps in ViewGum and choose Disconnect. The connection ends at once.
- Can it edit my own videos?
- Yes. The assistant gives you a one-time link to upload your video from your device, then prices a first cut and makes it once you say yes. You keep editing it in ViewGum. Files dropped into the chat itself do not reach ViewGum.
